P.A.T Reading Test

Tuesday was our P. A. T Reading test for term 4. First of all we did some fitness and then were told to go to our classrooms. We had to separate our desks and got our pencil and rubber out. We had to wait for the year 8's from Room 11 to come to  Room 12. I was worried but confident that I would be alright. It took 45 minutes to finish the test. When it was finished I was so happy that it was done.

The Botanic Gardens

Today Room 12 went to the botanic gardens at 9:45 am. Me Quros, James, Mele and Vaimoana went in the other bus with Rooms 1-3. When we hoped out of the bus we had to find Mrs Golder. We all had to line up. I had to go to the back of the line because I was the back leader. We where given a piece of paper with some questions. We had to walk around the garden and find the answer to the question. When we finish filling out the question we went for a little stroll around the gardens and then we went to the bus to go back to school.

Lunch Time Sport

Image result for sport

Today Room 12 was on lunchtime sport with Mr Reid. When I got there Mr Reid put me in James team. When I got there the other team already had 1 point.  I just stayed at the back so that the other team wouldn't get another goal. After 8 minutes I decided to move up. I told Lupe to kick the ball near the goal. I ran as fast as I could and kicked the ball and it went into the GOAL!! Lucky for me there was no Goalie. We all enjoyed running around and having fun.

Would You Survive?

TihoiFive months on school camp. NO devices allowed and even if you do there's no reception and there's no
WIFI !! Combine that with 14 year old boys from a private school, well it doesn't sound like a good mix. The aim of this camp is to get them off their devices and get them outdoors, and to teach them essential life skills. As for school, lessons are in the mornings and on weekends. Afternoons are devoted to outdoor activities such as running, abseiling, and hiking for up to three days. The boys can only go home for the holidays, and the odd long weekend.

France

Here is my presentation on France.

On Friday August 12 we went to the staff room and did some clay modelling. We could make anything, so I made an Elephant head and a NIKE tick. We all tried to make it in to the shape we wanted it to be. I was sitting with my friends and we all made something different. My friend Sebastian helped me with the Elephant head.

Adams win silver at Rio Games

Shot put super star Valarie Adams has won silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Michelle Carter from USA won the final with a sensational 20.63m throw which was too good for Adams. Carter blew away the competition with her final throw after trailing Adams for the entire competition. Anita Morton from Hungary finished third. Cooler conditions in Rio mean that throw were generally shorter than expected.

Basketball 2016

In room 11 we had to make a story about us being a athlete and choosing our sport. I chose basketball as my sport for the Olympics and my coach was Stephen Curry. When I was 8 and my dad trained me to be a basketball player. The favourite part in my story is that It felt good to walk in the stadium knowing I was one of the people representing my country.

My Olympic Mascot

On Friday we had to draw a Olympic mascot. It had to represent the Olympics. As you see it has the five rings that represent the Olympics. It doesn't look like much but I think it looks AMAZING! I call him Jack because that was the first name that popped into my head.I did this on sumo paint.

Megalodon (Speech)

My speech is about Megalodons, and as you can see it is my title for this blog! I am in the speech finals for my class (Room 11) this Friday. My time was 2 minutes and 43 seconds. We all had to choose a speech. The reason why I chose Megalodons was because my cousin told me about them last year and then when I looked it up on google they were huge. The best part in my speech is that they had about 276 teeth altogether. But lucky for us all that it is extinct now.

Weet-Bix has become one of the hottest product on the market in China. That's right the humble Weet-bix is the next big thing in China. Boxes of Sanitarium's most popular breakfast product, which goes for between five and six dollars in New Zealand supermarkets are being sold for upwards of $50 by local exporters on Chinese social media sites. So how did the familiar high-fibre, edible bricks of wheat become popular?

Seagull Turns Yellow After Falling Into Curry

A seagull turned bright orange after falling into a vat of curry. The bird fell into a container of chicken tikka masala while trying to scavenge a piece of meat from a food factory bin. He was rescued by workers at the factory in South East Wales and picked up by a volunteer for Vale Wildlife hospital. Staff at the centre used washing up liquid to clean the gull's feathers. They managed to return him back to his original white colour but have not been able to wash away the smell.

A hungry seagull with a love of spicy food had to be rescued after he fell into a huge vat of chicken tikka masala curry

Science Experiment

We went to Room 12 to do our science experiments. We shared our ideas and put them on a presentation together.

We looked up on the internet about what the method is, what the ingredients are and how it should work.

We were successful getting our volcano to work.and we all enjoyed working together on our science experiment.
